Exam Time
So it's been a while, but its that time of year again. This time though, it is the last ever set of University exams - my finals. I know i'm going to graduate which is a relief, but would still like to graduate with decent honours. As such, its:

Christmas Time
Firstly, I must apologise for the lack of my blog posts over the last few months, in fact, the whole of the last Semester. Unfortunately this was due to how busy I was at University while trying to hold down a part time reviewing job. In some ways, it was lots of fun and a challenge, but i'm looking at the new year thinking I might be able to enjoy things a bit more now that im not quite so pushed for time.
On the day of writing this it is Christmas Eve, that point where some people are probably just starting their Christmas shopping, luckily, I managed to finish mine yesterday so all I have left to do is wrap up a few presents and write the last few cards! Christmas is one of those awkward times, trying to come up with presents that people will like, enjoy while not breaking your bank. Especially in the case of being a student, who the people you are buying presents for are probably the people who are supporting you financially. Leading to this awkward situation of trying to get good value for money, or finding a present that means a lot.

School Time
Well, although I might not be going back to school any more, it is certainly that time of year and it is certainly funny how all of these kids suddenly get off their backsides 1/2 days before they have to go back and they start going out and enjoying some fresh air and playing football with friends.
As you will be aware, I am studying at the University of Nottingham, and as such freshers (re-freshers for me) will be starting on the 26th of September, with the real lectures starting a week after. You might therefore wonder why I am already living in Nottingham, which is an interesting question and one there is no real or definite answer to. I decided to move up here to start getting into a routine - although that isn't working too well - to try and get things set-up ready for next year. This both includes my nice new shiny house (unbelievably close to the Uni), and setting up all my review items within my room.
After 2 full car-loads I do have most of my items here in Nottingham, however, I still need to get my new road bike up here and another box or two.
Now, back to the Reviews!

July is upon us so what have I been up to?!
Well time certainly seems to be flying by at the moment. Been keeping busy with moving things home, sorting out my bedroom and doing a few reviews here and there.
Check out: eTeknix.com for the reviews and news and everything else that I have been doing. eTeknix is growing at quite a fair rate currently, nearly averaging 5k visitors a day which is allowing us to run lots more competitions and we are giving away between £100-350 worth of products per WEEK! I'm investing quite a lot of my time into this and although it's not paying me back at a nice hourly rate its nice to see that we are making progress and are starting to get some revenue from advertising that can be invested into the site and even starting to pay our staff including me. We have recently started paying per news article written, while its not much, any incentive is better than none and we will increase these payments again very shortly.
The main reason I love reviewing is that I get to play with some new gadgets and at the same time keep some things I like or sell them on and get some cash in my pocket. It's certainly not going to make the difference between me being in debt or not being in debt but an extra note in my wallet never goes a miss. Will soon be renting a proper house for next year at Uni, unfortunately first payment is nearly £700 and its due in 2 weeks, even though I can't move in for 5 weeks. That's life and I won't have even got the deposit back from my old flat! Starting to make heavy use of the overdraft and credit cards!
My room at home, since moving back, is made up of crates and boxes. I have no real storage as such and so it looks a bit weird. I have 12 large crates storing books to dvds to folders to textbooks and even reviewing products as well as 8 cardboard boxes with review items in. Funnily enough I only have 7 items to review (2 more turned up today) but still have another 3 items to sell as well as an old computer case.
I feel at this point I ought to switch back to the tennis as this is becoming a bit of a ramble and hopefully Murray will be on centre court and I can watch him win. Although, I still never expect too much from the Brit, he hasn't quite got the consistency that players like Nadal have. Will be interesting to see if any of the 'injuries' make any difference to the match.
Over and out for now!

End of First Year
Well it's that time which felt a long way off. I have finished the first year of my Physics Degree and surprisingly I got a comfortable 2:1 without doing enough work, well who is to quantify enough but that is a different story. Let's just say I know I can do more revision and preparation so it's nice to know that in general I can remember and understand and use information I have been lectured on quite proficiently without having to hammer it home with lots of laborious exercises.
Hopefully I will now find a little bit more time to write to this blog but as you can probably understand now being involved in writing reviews I spend a lot of the day writing and such don't always have much to say!
Currently I am finding the reviewing hard work, my lack of motivation is annoying me lots. I want in lots of ways to just go out and have fun and the money factor just isn't motivating me. Maybe if I was paid directly per article I would feel more willing to comply. It is nice that we now get paid for each extra News Story we write and its certainly helping the site expand quickly. If you aren't already aware of the site: eTeknix then take a look as we have lots of fresh content and now average around 4k visitors per day. While you are at it, take a look at my recent review and see how much work and writing it takes (let alone the 3 hours of testing) and bearing in mind this item is sat on ebay at 99p, I'm not filled with hope that its going to save me from the student debt and overdrafts that I am flying into.
I will, once again, go through my rough finances of this year and compare them to my initial budgeting. Will be interesting to see how much more or less I have actually spent, although I am pretty certain it is more than I budgeted for!
Over and out for now.
God Bless.
